Who Am I?

I’m a UK based, Student Pilot and Content Creator, currently residing in Bournemouth, where I’m completing my UK CAA ATPL Pilot training. If you had told my ten year old self that this is what I’d be doing, I definitely wouldn’t have believed you!

Tom’s Aviation Zone started as a way for me to share my passion for Flight Simulation but it quickly transformed far beyond what I ever expected.

When I started my training in January 2026, my Instagram page was a way of sharing what I was getting up to with my family. However, it very quickly blew up, and here we are today, with a fantastic community of like-minded people.

I hope to continue to use Tom’s Aviation Zone as not only an outlet for my passion, but to inspire and encourage people to follow dreams, whatever they may be.

Past Aviation Experience

Prior to my pilot training, I worked at London Heathrow as a Ramp Agent and later, a Ramp Team Leader. I thoroughly enjoyed this job not only due to my close proximity to the aircraft, but I got to work with so many amazing people that taught me lots about communication, teamwork and perseverance.

Whilst it certainly wasn’t always easy work, I always had a buzz going to work. No two days were the same.

Admittedly, working outside in the British winter, is not something I particularly enjoyed, however, the team spirit and laughs we had could easily make you forget about the cold and the rain.

I will finish this segment with an apology to anyone I’ve met or spoken with since this job, as now, I can’t stop talking about planes!
